Erectile dysfunction (ED) half of men over the age of 65 age suffer from ED. That accounts for 150 million men worldwide. The implantation of a penile prosthesis can be an effective solution when other treatments such as drug therapy fail or are inappropriate due to health complications or interfering medications.
Current penile implants are outdated and have not seen significant innovation since the 1970's. I worked with Coloplast and a team of 3 interdisciplinary Thayer engineers to rethink penile implants from the perspective of patients.
